How to Get Rid of a Farmer's Tan
Let’s face facts. There aren’t many things less attractive in the summer then having a farmer’s tan. Unfortunately, for some, it’s as unavoidable in summer as mosquito bites. If you already have one, don’t worry. Instead use any of these tricks to get rid of it for good.
Go Shirtless
Find a time on your day off and just take off your shirt. Lay down in the sun, relax and put on some sunscreen. Try to use a product that has an SPF or at least 45, and don’t forget to reapply often to avoid a sunburn.

Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate
If you would rather avoid the sun, then you can try to remove your tan instead of evening it out. This is, however, a much more lengthy process. While you are showering in the morning, rub an exfoliator over your arms, and then rinse. Before heading out for work or play, apply sunscreen. At night, use lemon juice. You have to repeat these steps everyday for at least a month to get any results.
Self Tanners
There are a lot of different self tanning products on the market today. You can try one that will give you a tan instantly, or one that will darken your skin gradually over time. It just depends on your preference. If you are willing to spend a little more money, then you can also contact any of your locals establishments that offer a “spray tan”.
Baking Soda to the Rescue
Grab some baking soda out of the cupboard and rub it into your arms using a circular pattern. This will help eliminate some of the blotchiness on your skin. It is also probably the safest method out there.
Stay Indoors
For many people out there avoiding the outdoors probably isn’t a practical idea. For any of you that can, this is a great way to stop your farmer’s tan before it even starts. I’m not saying you should avoid the sun all together, that is unrealistic. Just try to limit your exposure. This is also just a good thing for your general skin health as well. Remember, the sun is also one of the leading causes of premature wrinkles and age spots.
There you have it. The farmer’s tan that you suffer with every year can easily be avoided and banished without even breaking sweat. Have fun this summer, and remember to reapply that sunscreen!
