It is best to browse websites through Google with Mozilla version 3, as they provide a secure environment. This combo will alert you of any websites that have any malicious software on them. Then it will be solely your choice whether you want to browse that site or not. Blocking ActiveX controls in your browser settings can eliminate the chance of auto running spyware, adware, malware, etc. when you are browsing through different web sites.

This will protect your computer from being hijacked. In order to disable it, you need to pull up Internet Explorer, click on Tools and then click Internet Options. Now click the Security Tab, here you can assign the security level you want for your computer. Now let us disable the ActiveX on your computer. Under the security tab you will see a button that says Custom. Click the Custom tab and you will see a window that says Security Settings. You will see an option saying Download Signed ActiveX controls, enable that, another option says, Download Unsigned ActiveX controls, disable that. This will prevent any adware from getting installed on your computer.
