How to Get Rid of Cigarette Smell
No one likes the smell of stale cigarettes, even smokers like myself hate the smell. But bar quitting smoking, how can we mask the smell? Well through my years I have found a few helpful products and techniques which have cleared away the cigarette smell, be it on me, in the car or at home! So here are a few great tips on how to get rid of the cigarette smell!
Air Fresheners
Air and Fabric Fresheners such as Febreze are a great way to remove the smell of smoke from the air and fabrics. This little hint I learned when I was a kid trying to hide the smell of smoke from my parents, and it worked, for a while! Air and fabric fresheners do get rid of the smell in the air, in your clothes and in your furniture, but it can be an expensive long term solution!
Natural Remedies
There are plenty of natural ways to absorb smoke from a room, my favorite was always a plate of sliced apples with instant coffee granules scattered over them, creates a strangely pleasant smell and magically absorbs the stink of cigarettes! Leave this plate out for days and the smell in your house should have diminished.
Air Circulation
Whether it is your clothes, your house, your car, or yourself! Open windows, walk around outside, drive your car with the windows open. One of the best ways to get rid of the smell of smoke is to air the smelling object out. This is easier with some things than others, but a few hours of fresh air will normally get any cigarette smell down to a manageable level!
Steam Clean It
If all else has failed it probably means that the tar deposits from your cigarette smoke have embedded themselves deep in to your clothes. Steam cleaning is pretty much the only guaranteed way to remove these, and while it may not be the preferred option, getting a professional steam cleaning service to go through your car/house is a great way to remove the smell of cigarettes. For clothes try using a home dry cleaning kit, these do not use water, but a mild chemical steam, which is also a great remover of cigarette smells!
Using these four tips you should have no trouble at all in removing the smell of cigarette smoke from your house and clothing!
