How to Get Rid of Corns

Corns are tiny, hard and thick parts of skin that are formed on top of the toes, or in between them. They are formed because of friction of shoes on the skin, or wearing shoes that are too tight around your toes. These are not life-threatening, but they are painful.

Step One

The easiest way to get rid of corns is to adjust your shoe size. Try wider tipped shoes, and shoes with soft surfaces. This will ease the friction to your feet. It will also help to wear thicker socks with some types of shoes.

Step Two

Soaking your feet will also help you get rid of corns. Fill a small tub with hot water and soak your feet for about twenty five minutes. Adding bath salts and bubbles to the water will also help. After soaking your feet, gently apply some baby oil on your corns. Then using a callus brush, rub off the hard surfaces. Remember to be gentle.

Step Three

Applying a garlic treatment could also help. Cut the garlic into small pieces and add a little bit of salt, and mush it up until its pasty. Put it on your corns and then put on a band-aid. Keep this on there for about three days. When you pull off the band-aid the dry surfaces will come off.

Step Four

You could also try using oils. Put some tangerine or lemon essential oils on your corns at least twice a day. This will help to soften them up, which makes it easier to scrub off. Massage the hard surfaces with castor oil for about five minutes at least twice a day to help get rid of the corns. You could also use tea tree oil which has cider vinegar in it.

Step Five

Using fruits could also help. Fruits like papaya and pineapple are a great way to get rid of corns. Apply half a teaspoon of raw papaya juice on your corns at least three times a day until it is gone. If you are using pineapple, just slice a small piece from a freshly cut pineapple peel. Put this on the corn surface. Keep the pineapple on your feet with a plastic wrap and then put on a sock. You should leave this on overnight.

When scrubbing your feet remember to be gentle because if you are to rough it could cause more irritation.
