So, you come into the kitchen to grab you an apple and what do you see? Those pesky little fruit flies that you know that you didn’t invite to dinner. Well, I will be glad to give you a few tips on how to get those guests to get the point and see that they have over stayed there welcome and it’s time to go home. I have included three ways to get rid of these pesky critters that are quick, easy and environmentally safe.

Make a Plastic Ziplock bag trap to capture those pesty things

Start of by placing a few slices of apple inside the ziplock bag. Leave about an inch open to invite those flies over for their dessert. The little pest will soon be ready to chow down. Zip the bag closed and the crushed the little nasty bugs with a spoon or your fingers will work just the same.

Devise a glass trap

Put any kind of fruit inside the glass. Securely cover the glass with plastic wrap. Put a very small hole in the plastic and the flies will go in, but they will never make it back out. Problem Solved!

The tricky oven trap

This is not one of the easiest of the traps to get rid of them, but is usually highly effective. First, Start off by removing all available food from the kitchen. Place open items in ziplock baggies or inside the fridge. Wash the dishes. Open the door of your oven and place a piece of fruit (recommed kiwi or banana peels) in there overnight with the door open. The next morning when you wake up, quickly and quietly close the door. Turn the oven on to about 400F for about 10 to 20 minutes and most of the fruit flies will be toast. Make sure after they are gone, to clean the oven completely.

Well, here are some great tips to get rid of those pesky and nasty little fruit flies. No one likes an uninvited guests and since most of your uninvited guests can’t be gotten rid of this easy, you better take of advantage of getting rid of these. As I always tell my husband when it comes to nasty critters that are in the house, nobody leaves here for free, so if you aren’t paying rent, then you gotta go!
