How to Get Rid of Keratosis Pilaris
Keratosis Pilaris is a very common chronic skin condition that affects many people of all ages. Keratosis pilaris (KP) is usually characterized by little white or pink bumps on the upper arms, legs, buttocks, and in rare cases can affect the face. There is currently no cure for keratosis pilaris, but many people have had great success with some of the many effective treatments out there for it. Start With Gentle Cleansing
Most soap that we use on our bodies is filled with harsh chemicals and fragrances that can irritate our skin, especially skin affected with keratosis pilaris. It is best to bathe with a gentle soap like Cetaphil or any soap that is gentle to the skin. After you bathe, pat dry your body gently-don’t be rough as this can irritate KP.
Moisturize Immediately After Showering
Apply a moisturizer while your skin is still moist from the shower. Try to use an over-the-counter lotion that contains alpha-hydroxy acid or glycolic acid in it. Lotions that contain lactic acid or urea are also good choices too. Not only do these moisturize your skin, but they also gently exfoliate it. There are also many products on the market that are being sold that specifically treat KP that have been shown to be effective.
Visit a Spa
A spa sounds relaxing, but it can also help you win your battle against keratosis pilaris. Many KP sufferers have had great results by using microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser treatments, photodynamic therapy, and more. If you can not afford a trip to the spa, consider trying some of the home microdermabrasion kits that are sold in stores. They may not be as strong as the ones in the spas, but they may help.
Make a Few Changes in Your Diet
Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. Make sure you are getting enough Vitamin A in your diet. Vitamin A is not only good for you, but it is great for your skin too. Consider adding supplements like flax seed oil and fish oil to your diet as well.
Seek Medical Attention
If you see no improvement and have tried everything to lessen the appearance of your keratosis pilaris and help your skin feel smooth again, it is time to see a doctor. Some doctors may prescribe topical steroid creams and certain medications that may help keratosis pilaris.
Again, there is no cure for keratosis pilaris, and everyone has different results with treatments. You will probably need to experiment until you find the treatment that is right for you. Once you do, you will need to keep up with it. When you stop treating keratosis pilaris, it will return.

I FOUND A CURE FOR KERATOSIS PILARIS
Hi had KP for over thirty years, since I was a teenager, i’m now 43. Tried everything and nothing worked. As it is genetic my mother has it and so do my brother and one of my sons. About four years ago stopped drinking cows milk as one of my sons was allergic to it and he and I started drinking goats and rice milk. Within two weeks my KP had completely disappeared. I couldn’t believe it I had completely smooth, baby soft skin on my upper arms, upper back, face, thighs and buttocks. I have had no KP for four years, except when I went back onto cows milk for a few weeks. It started to come back, so I switched back to non-dairy alternatives and it has gone away again completely. Please tell everyone to try this. 40% of the population have Keratosis Pilaris and there is no known cure. This worked, so maybe it is all down to cows milk!
