I have foundthe best thing for poison sumac is to rub natural
aloe on it. It makes the are tingle and swell directly around the rash, causing the poison to ooze from your skin. It does not look like the puss filled pockets oozing, the aloe just soaks into your skin kills the poison(so I have heard) and pushes it out. I have had my rashes for a week now and just started this last night. Nothing else seemed to help as much, I tried calamine, ivarest, domeboro, mexisana, clear lotion, alcohol, oatmeal and baking soda rubs that drie(no tub). Nothing worked. My legs were swelling and u was crying in the shower with scalding water running on it trying to releive the pain in any way. While in the shower use a loofa (or washcloth) then scrub the rash with bar soap, to dry the poison an if u wash the area it comes into contact with soon enough it won't spread, so I scrubbed until I couldn't any longer. My legs are raw but I got the releif of scratching I wanted without the spread of the poison oils. Then I used rubbing alcohol after which I followed with te aloe I took fro my plant(the actual plant is best) it immediately puffed up and pushed poison out, most of m rash has vanished in te past 24 hours but what's left is soon to be gone. It's said to take up to 3 days. 24 hours for me and I've seen a huge difference, it's amazing. More than half of it is gone. I have a feeling I'm highly alergic to it. The rash had covered my legs within 12 hours of comming into contact with it but the aloe makes it dissapeared just ad fast as u can catch it. I hope this is if use to others who are suffering. This really is the beast the call it.
