How to Get Rid of Self Tanner
Most people these days want to get that fabulous golden glow that the rich and famous love to flaunt. An easy, affordable and harm-free way to achieve this is by using self tanner. Things happen of course, and until you get the hang of it, you will probably make some self-tan application mistakes. Don’t fret though; no one is perfect! Here are some ways to help fix your mishap and get rid of self tanner faster than you can say ‘beach time’.
Exfoliation
Gently exfoliate the area of the skin that you would like to remove self tanner from with a washcloth. Since self tanner is applied on the uppermost layer of your skin, exfoliating will remove the dead, dry skin and help start the process of your skin’s renewal.
Alcohol
Try applying a cotton swab soaked in alcohol as soon as the mishap happens for better results. Be careful not to get alcohol in your eyes and don’t over apply as it can cause the skin to dry.
Lemons
Lemons and lemon juice are usually very effective for exfoliating, so they work well for removing self tanner. Soak a cotton ball in lemon juice and rub it gently over the area you want to lift the self tanner from. You might also want to try rubbing a lemon wedge directly on the skin for harder to get color and larger areas.
Baking Soda Bath
While taking a warm bath, apply moistened baking soda to a washcloth. Gently rub the washcloth over your skin in a circular motion. Baking soda works as an exfoliating rub and it will also help remove stains.
Removal Products
There are many products out there for removing self tanner. Many companies that produce self tanners have now come out with removal solutions to make your life easier.
