How to Get Rid of Stomach Cramps

Stomach cramps are something that everybody has to deal with from time to time. The cramps are something that no one wants to deal with. They can make you feel bloated, and they can even make you feel ill and irritable. They are caused by a number of things ranging from the foods we eat, to a women’s menstrual cycle. Here are some helpful tips to get rid of those horrible stomach cramps.

Step One

Many people don’t think of drinking cold water when their stomachs start hurting. It may not sound like the best idea at the time, but it will help. You shouldn’t chug down the entire glass or bottle all at one time though. You should sip on the water, and also stay away from caffeine, and don’t over eat.

Relaxing can help put off any stress that you may be feeling which could trigger a stomach cramp. Don’t get to comfortable though, because you will have to get back up soon. Try things like reading a good book or looking at a magazine to get your mind off your stomach.

Step Three

You could also try doing some light stretching and exercising after your have drank your water. Swimming is a great exercise that could sometimes help. You should also try to take pain relievers such as Tylenol to help calm your stomach down.

Step Four

If you are able to, you can try to take a nice warm bath. Try adding sweet smelling soaps to your bath. They will help to relax you and could help to get rid of your stomach pain. You could also light some candles or use aromatherapy candles to help relieve any tension or stress.

These methods can help you get rid of those nasty stomach cramps. If this doesn’t work, try to lie down and get plenty of rest. If you have a medical condition that you are aware of and your stomach starts cramping with no relief, you should get to the hospital. If nothing has helped and your cramps are still persistent, you may want to seek medical attention. Always be sure to remain calm, they will pass.
