Do you find yourself in the situation where you financed a car that you no longer want? It’s not an uncommon situation to find yourself in, and thankfully, you have a couple different options on how to deal with it. Your options for getting rid of the vehicle primarily depend on your own preferences and what the remaining balance on the auto loan may be. If you purchased a car that has more than 75% of the financing remaining, it may be a good idea to do the following:

1. Get an appraisal of the actual car’s value – This can be done on a number of reputable online websites.

2. Decide whether to sell the car or to use it as a trade in.

Get An Appraisal Of The Car’s Value

It’s hugely important to know the value of your vehicle no matter how you choose to get rid of it. The actual value depends on the age and condition of the car. Assuming the car under finance is in resell condition, the value of the vehicle should be adequate to sell it at a good price. Use the cash from the sale to pay off financing or at the time of purchase of a new vehicle as a trade in. One tip to remember is to always know the manufacturer’s price to the dealer of any car. This gives buyers a good indication of costs added to the dealer’s price as well as bargaining advantage. The process of getting rid of a car definitely requires good planning and having accurate information at your fingertips. Therefore, knowing the actual value of the car you financed is a means of negotiating trade-in finance terms to your advantage.

Sell Or Trade In?

Selling your vehicle provides needed cash to pay off the remaining financing. If the value of the car isn’t sufficient for a full pay off, check with the GAP insurance that covers remaining balances after a car has been sold and the final finance payment has been credited to you. GAP insurance is usually part of most financing agreements for auto loans. Check your original finance documents to learn if this was included. When it comes to a trade-in, knowing your car’s value, is a bargaining edge when you purchase another vehicle. Otherwise, the dealer of the newer car may decide for you what the older car’s value may be.

Another option is to lease or rent your vehicle with option to buy. This is the least expedient method of getting rid of your financed car.

Car dents are frustrating and happen at the most inopportune times. But, getting a dent out of a car need not be daunting or frustrating for there are several methods that can help get the dent out of your car.

Dry Ice Can Be Effective

One of the most popular methods of getting a dent out of a car is by using dry ice. Dry ice can be purchased at most large department stores or an auto service store. The dry ice method is done by attaching the dry ice in the center of the dent. It shouldn’t take more than a minute and the dry ice will begin drawing out the dent. It may take more than one time and if it does, put the dry ice back on for a few seconds more. Note: Always use gloves when using this method. The dry ice should never touch your skin.

Dent Repair Kits

Then, there are dent repair kits. Most of these kits have what you need and come with a suction cup. These repair kits can be found at most large department stores or an auto service store. You will also need a ball-peen hammer and a dolly. The kit will have the necessary instructions and most work well with small dents.

Try a Plunger

Another, much easier way to remove a dent is by using the ordinary but effective, plunger. Place the plunger over the dent and do the same as you would if unclogging a toilet. Press in and pull out several times, until the plunger pulls out the dent. Plungers come in several different sizes, so buy one that closely fits the size of your dent.

Tapping is Sometimes a Big Help

Still another way is by tapping. Items used with this method are: a rubber mallet, an old towel or cloth and a block of wood. First, wrap the towel around the block. This needs to be done in order to prevent scratching. Then, take the block and carefully lay it on the metal – on the opposite side of the panel from the dent – and begin tapping it with the rubber mallet. The block will help to even out and spread the mallet blows. Keep tapping slowly until the dent is out and a balance occurs on the surface. Keep your blows even and given in a slow fashion.

Try a Hair Dryer and an Air Duster

Next, another way to get a dent out of a car is by using a hair dryer and an air duster. First, aim the hot air on the dent so that the surface of the dent becomes warm. Once the dent is hot, take your air duster and spray the surface of the dent, which is now warm. It is the heat that comes from the dryer and the cool, suction of the air from the duster that should help pull out the dent.

If All Else Fails…

If these methods are ineffective, then you will probably need to have an auto body shop remove the dent. They have the tools and know-how to remove stubborn dents. Some dents are so out of shape and large that they need professional care.

When it comes to car parts, many minerals and metals which are used in producing these car parts are not allowed to just be thrown into a garbage can due to the fact that car parts cannot be burned. So when it comes to disposing of car parts which are of no use to you anymore how would you go about getting rid of it instead of letting them clutter up space in and around your home? This article will help you learn how to get rid of car parts without getting into trouble.

Scrap Yards

If you are attempting to get rid of an entire vehicle and not just specific parts which come with the vehicle, you can drop off most vehicles with a vehicle scrap yard and get money paid to you for your contribution. By giving your vehicle to one of these establishments you are giving your vehicle to a company which will take your vehicle and openly let others come in and find still usable parts within the vehicle to fix their own vehicles.
[sniplet AdSense Skyscraper]

Metal Scrap Yards

You can donate either an entire vehicle or just parts from within a vehicle to metal scrap yards by removing any non-metal materials before dropping off. Traditionally the company will pay you a flat rate for the type of metal along with the total weight of the metal which you are giving. These metals are then used by the companies to dense down and give to manufacturing companies which can use the metals to create new products.

If The Car Parts Work Sell Them

There are many internet and local sources where you can list your parts, how old they are, and how long they have been used and maybe someone who needs the product or part will contact you and offer a deal to use the part on their own vehicles. This is an easy way to dispose of car parts without having to travel away from your own home. Some sources where you can list used car parts are craigslist, e-bay, and local listings.

Give It Away

If you do not have a local establishment to sell your parts or feel the parts may not work you can always give them away to someone who may be willing to take the parts off of your hands. You can do this by putting the parts in your front door with a cardboard sign stating free across the front this way someone who passes by may stop and pick up the parts relieving you from having to dispose of the parts yourself.

If you live somewhere where you cannot just put the part in your front yard you can always contact friends or family who may be able to use the parts. Also companies such as auto repair shops may be able to give you advise where you can recycle these parts at no cost to you.

Are you ready to get rid of a car lease? Maybe you have found a newer vehicle that you just have to have, or the current conditions of our economy have caused those never ending payments to be less of a priority. There are many ways to get out of an auto lease, some simple, and some that may cause you a headache. Compiled here is a list of three of the easiest ways to get that nasty lease taken off of your hands.

Look into a Lease Assumption

“Lease Assumption” is the act of transferring your lease over to somebody who is willing to make the payments. If you decide it is time to get a lease of of your hands, post advertisements in newspapers, online, or even through fliers in your neighborhood. When someone who is interested sees your advertisement, they will contact you and you can take the proper steps for them to take over your lease. When terms and conditions are explained to the new lessee, the leasing company will begin to process the transfer. All liabilities for this lease will now be placed on the new lessee. Be careful however, because some leasing companies hold the original lease holder responsible in the event that the new lessee fails to make their payments.

Buy Out the Car

“Buying out the Vehicle” is exactly as it sounds, purchasing the vehicle you currently lease. Contact your leasing company and talk to them about buying out the car and how much this process will cost you. When all is said and done and you have purchased the car, free from your lease, try and put it up for sale. When selling the vehicle, you want to set the asking price at about the same price you paid to buy the car out in the first place. This process is often difficult, but it can be a win-win. You are out of your lease, and after sale you re-make the money you lost when buying out the vehicle.

Turn Your Car In to the Dealership

If all else fails and you cannot find a better way to get rid of a car lease, walk in to the dealership and turn the vehicle in. Damage will be done to your credit report as this is considered repossession, but you are now free from your lease.

Many options are available for getting rid of a car lease, and these three are steps that are commonly taken. Sit down and consider all options to decide what will be best for your wallet today, and your credit in the future.

Scratches on cars are not only unsightly, but they also bring down the value of a vehicle. Scratches vary in degree. Some are minor and others can be quite severe. It is almost impossible for a car to never get a scratch during ownership, but there several effective ways of how to get rid of car scratches.

Use Paint to Cover Scratches

If a scratch is not too big or deep painting over then is simple and fairly easy to do. First wash the area that is to be painted to eliminate any debris or wax buildup which could affect the application of the paint.
Very fine sand paper should be used to sand down the scratch and this must be done carefully so not to sand down pass the surface of the scratch. Then brush away any of the dust left behind from the sanding.

Note: Make certain that the paint matches the car’s color. The car’s identification number identifies the correct color to use. If the color does not match exactly it will leave a spot that is darker or lighter in color and this may even look worse than the scratch.

The final step is to paint over the scratches according to instructions that come with the touch up paint. The scratch will not be noticeable after the paint dries overnight.

use Rubbing Compound by Hand

Rubbing compound is another effective way of how to get rid of car scratches. This method is for best for light to mild scratches. Use a mild abrasive compound and apply it to a sponge and then buff over the scratch in a circular motion until the scratch disappears. Clean the area with car soap and then wax.
Note: If the scratch is deep it is recommend that it be taken to a professional so not to make the scratch worse.

Use Wax to Buffer Car Scratches

Clean the area of where the scratch is and allow it to dry. Apply wax to a sponge. It is best to use liquid wax. Buff over the area using a circular motion and then use a soft towel clean to buff away the wax. This works wonders on light to mild scratches.

All of these methods are very effective ways of how to get rid of car scratches that are light or mild in nature. Again these methods work best on light scratches.

There are, in actuality, two types of “car payments”. The first is the result of an auto loan. The second type is the result of car leasing.

Auto Loans

Auto loan payments for those without the type of funds that allow for a car purchase on a cash down basis are standard to most people. Obviously, the old adage about car dealers is still somewhat accurate. If there is anything a potential car buyer should do, it’s check, before purchasing, the manufacturer’s price to the dealer. This gives the buyer a fount of knowledge that acts as protection from bloated dealer pricing. With this kind of information going into an auto loan, the buyer can accurately configure how much the dealer is adding on to dealer price. In addition, there are several internet websites that provide information on every manufactured automobile. This is crucial if the purchased auto is to be “pre-owned” or used. Be aware that the rate of interest on auto loans are predetermined by a combination of credit rating and the dealer’s financing arrangements.

Auto Leasing

Auto leasing payments require a cash down deposit and there are several other leasing contract agreement issues. One of the most important is auto insurance on a leased vehicle. Others are length of lease, terms and conditions of lease contract and any end-of-contract issues that may arise.

Follow these 3 Steps to Get Rid of Car Payments

Owning a vehicle for most people is a necessity. Car loan and car leasing payments aren’t. Smart car buyers know that it’s a better investment to purchase a “pre-owned vehicle” 2 years old or newer. The reason is that such “preowned” vehicles most often have a lower rate of depreciation in value than a new car right off the dealer’s lot. Most preowned vehicles have a maintenance contract for repairs for up to 2 years. In some cases, this is similar to maintenance agreements on a new car. There are several steps to take to get rid of car payments:

1. Double the car payments paid each month. This decreases the number of payments.
2. Use “windfall” money, i.e., tax rebates, employee bonuses, etc. to pay off the loan
3. Sell any household or other items not in use or that have become obsolete to pay off loan payments.

Getting rid of car payments is beneficial as it reduces monthly debt and loan interest paid.
